Homosexual in the Soviet Union prosecuted. Best known 121-th article of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR in 1960 (formerly Art. 154a of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR, 1926), which provides that:
Article 121. Pederasty
Sexual intercourse with a man a man (sodomy) - punishable by imprisonment up to five years.
Sodomy, committed with the use of physical violence, threats, or against a minor, or by using the dependent status of the victim - punishable by imprisonment for up to eight years.
But all these measures were in vain, especially in the period of perestroika.
