Commissioner Roger Goodell has published an open letter on the league_s Play Smart. Play Safe website, saying the NFL is establishing an independent scientific research board to help spearhead the campaign. Over the next five years, the league has committed 60 million dollars towards developing technology, such as safer helmets, and 40 million towards medical research Russian hackers have leaked the medical files of US Olympians Simone Biles and Venus and Serena Williams - and it looks to be revenge for Russia_s ban at the Olympics A group calling themselves The Fancy Bears has claimed responsibility for the attack on the World Anti-Doping Agency website. They accused the Americans of testing positive for illicit substances. Biles has been taking drugs to treat ADHD, but got permission from WADA officials to do so. The hackers claim US athletes get special treatment from doping agencies. Russia of course had dozens of athletes banned from competition in Rio, linked to what_s become the biggest drug scandal in track and field history. We were THIS close to a mega-deal at Major League Baseball_s waiver trade deadline It_s been revealed that the LA Dodgers were on the brink of trading promising - but frustrating - slugger Yasiel Puig to Milwaukee for former MVP Ryan Braun The teams went back and forth on the specifics of the swap, and were about 20 minutes away from getting it done when the deadline struck on August 31st.
