Felicity was very proud of herself. It'd been her idea to enter the harem 3 months ago, and though her parents hadn't really liked the plan, she was quite single-minded and more than capable of making life unbearable until she'd got her way. This had not been her plan, and she envisaged a rather dull future for herself since there was no way out of her contract of service....
And then, everything changed. The 'top girl' (supposedly the sheik's favourite - but a poor lanky creature with bad skin and thick ankles) rushed to the other girls one morning as they were bathing. They were being visited by the Emperor's men! This could only mean one thing - the Emperor was looking for a new girl for himself! Felicity could hardly breathe with excitement as she completed her makeup and knelt with the other girls to receive their guests.
There was never any doubt in Felicity's mind that she would be chosen. She tossed her hair, flashed her most winning smiles, and contrived to flash as much leg as was humanly possible while kneeling. The other girls shot her hateful glances, but Felicity simply didn't care; she wanted the job! It came as no surprise to anyone that a few minutes later, the Emperor's deputy stepped forward and told Felicity that she would be taken to the Emperor's harem as a gift. The other girls clapped sullenly, and Felicity beamed at them gleefully. Finally, she'd have the chance to experience a PROPER harem, and hopefully, a REAL man!
She was ushered into one of the small chambers and told to disrobe. They'd be taking her right away, they told her; but first she must be 'prepared'. Well, that was fine with Felicity! She didn't want to spend another hour in the provinces, and certainly didn't want to give the sheik another opportunity to paw at her... When some rope was produced, Felicity was somewhat surprised, but when it was explained to her that the Emperor prefered to receive his gifts 'wrapped up', it seemed perfectly reasonable to allow herself to be tied securely by the deputy. He certainly did an excellent job - when he'd finished she couldn't move much at all, and when she looked down at her naked body she thought he'd done a super job of enhancing her shape. She even rather liked the way it felt, and since the journey wasn't likely to be longer than a couple of hours, Felicity felt sure she could cope with not being able to move around much....

Felicity was tremendously excited by her sudden good fortune, and as soon as the Emperor's deputy had finished tying her, she took an opportunity to try to find out more about her new master. Was the Emperor tall? Was he a good horseman? Was he quite young? She was disappointed that no one seemed to want to tell her much about the Emperor - they simply told her she should wait and see. Patience, however, was not one of Felicity's strong points, and she started to feel somewhat irritated by their lack of interest in her. She changed tack, and asked about the other girls at the harem. Having been a big fish in a small pond, Felicity was anxious that no one in her new home would surpass her in beauty or charm... Felicity really wasn't too keen on other girls, and was happy to try to draw the men out to discuss the various failings of the Emperor's other women. She was met with little more success however, and she started to feel really put-out. And then inspiration hit her. Poor chaps were probably absolutely sex-starved! They were avoiding looking at her or keeping up conversation because they were scared of being over-come with lust for her! What a splendid advantage - if she flirted with them and maybe offered them some fun on the journey, they were sure to tell her everything she wanted to know.
Felicity's seduction attempt lasted about 20 seconds. She'd got as far as 'Goodness! You must be lonely working for Emperor, I think you're gorgeous, would you like me to...?' before the Emperor's deputy, grabbed her, muttered something furious about dishonouring the Emperor, and stuffed a big metal ring into her open mouth! Once he'd secured it with straps around the back of her head, Felicity found herself utterely unable to talk, shut her mouth, or even stop herself from drooling. This was a very poor state of affairs, and Felicity suddenly realised with absolute horror that if they didn't take the gag off before they arrived at the Emperor's harem, he might SEE her like this for the first time! And what on earth would he think of her? She wouldn't look as pretty as normal, and she wouldn't be able to talk to him, and furthermore he might realise that she'd done something wrong... She tried to get the deputy's attention, but he resolutely refused to look at her, and she wondered what the Emperor would do with her if she arrived at the harem wearing nothing at all except for a ring-gag....

Until one or two of them decide that they are having a really bad day, or decide that they really have in for a particular governess. Then things can get ugly. "Off-with-her-head" sort of ugly. So you just have to remember that you can only push things too far, that your authority as a governess only lets you get away with disciplining your charges so far. If you ever really lock swords in a battle of wills with one of the Royals, you will lose. You will lose the battle, and quite probably you will lose your head.
Mimi was quite new to the job, her predecessor having actually retired voluntarily and suggesting her as a replacement. She ran around with the children at lunch, until it was time for them to come in and resume their studies. They didn't want to come. They had been hearing tales of derring-do all through the warm summer's day from Bors, the grizzled veteran knight who attended them every moment of the day.
