Canadian officials have condemned the sentence, and are demanding his immediate release. And catching a flight to Cuba just got a little closer to reality for Americans One year after President Obama announced a reconciliation with Cuba, government officials from both countries are reportedly VERY close to an agreement on restoring commercial flights. Currently, the only option for US travelers is to fly charter, which is expensive and difficult to book. Several major airlines have already expressed interest in the route.
